The Nutrition School Enrichment Kit (SEK) Program brings nutrition education to Nebraska’s K-5 students through engaging lessons led by teachers. Each kit includes lesson plans, handouts, visual aids, games, and family newsletters, making it easy to integrate into the classroom. Teachers consistently give the program excellent reviews, and evaluations show students gain valuable knowledge and improve health-related behaviors. This program meets national health standards.
Kits are available statewide, with options for Extension professionals to deliver an additional lesson such as handwashing, MyPlate, physical activity, or a food experience. Schools with 50% or more free or reduced lunch participation qualify for FREE kits through SNAP-Ed funding. For more information, contact Natalie Sehi at nsehi2@unl.edu.
