The American Adademy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) advises you to satisfy your sweet tooth without all the sugar by eating more dark chocolate. "In general, the higher the percentage of cocoa, the less the sugar content.," according to ADA. Dark chocolate also contains antioxidants which some research suggests can help lower blood pressure and protect your heart.

Split Pea Soup Week (2nd week) split pea


Celebrated the second week in November. Dried split peas provide folate, fiber, iron, and protein, as well as being low in fat. Unlike cooking other legumes, it's not necessary to soak them before cooking with them. It's easy to make a hot and hearty meal in a hurry.
