Smoothies and Shakesshake

Apple Yogurt Smoothie

Makes 2 servings

2 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 granny smith apple, cored, peeled and diced
½ cup orange juice
½ cup ice
2 Tablespoons honey

1. Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Mix until smooth.
3. Pour into 2 glasses.

 
 


Banana Split Shakeblender for smoothies

4 servings

2 small ripe bananas
1 cup skim milk
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
2 cups low-fat chocolate frozen yogurt

1. Place bananas, milk and strawberries in a blender. Cover; blend on HIGH speed until smooth.
2. Add yogurt 1 cup at a time. Cover and pulse on HIGH speed after each addition until smooth and thick.

4. If desired, garnish with sliced almonds, julienne mint and ½ teaspoon honey.


Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie

1 cup skim milk
2 Tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 Tablespoon peanut butter
½ cup vanilla yogurt

1. Place all ingredients in blender and blend on high until
smooth.

2. Serve and enjoy.


Fruit Smoothiestrawberry yogurt shake

Makes 4 servings

2 containers (6 ounce) low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 package (10 ounces) frozen strawberries or raspberries
1 medium banana, sliced

1. Put all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
2. Mix until smooth.

Note: You may need to blend this in two batches. For a change of pace, use any of your favorite frozen fruits. Fresh fruit such as mango, peaches and cantaloupe also can be used.


 


Pineapple Smoothie

1 cup pineapple juice
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cup nonfat dry milk
5 or 6 crushed ice cubes

1. Combine all ingredients in a container with a tight lid. Shake until blended.
2. Serve at once in a glass.
